Tax is the money you have to give to the government, and they use it to pay for things like schools, roads, and hospitals. When you earn money from a job, you’ll pay a slice of your income to the government as tax.

Taxes are like the ticket fee to a theme park. Imagine the government as the theme park owner and your city as the park. The theme park offers all sorts of different rides for you to use. Just as you pay an entry fee to be at the park, you pay taxes to use and maintain your city's services.

Taxes are needed to maintain a good place to live and play for all its residents.
