Stock Market

The stock market is a place where people buy and sell ownership shares in publicly-traded companies.

The stock market is like a big, virtual shopping mall for pieces of companies, called shares.

Imagine each store in the mall is a different company. People visit this mall to buy and sell pieces of these companies. When a company is doing well, more people want to buy its pieces, making its store popular and increasing the price of its pieces. If the company isn't doing well, fewer people want its pieces, and the price goes down.

The stock market is constantly changing, with prices going up or down based on how many people want to buy or sell. It's a place where people invest their money, hoping the value of the pieces they buy will increase over time.
